The English version of the Polish Strategy for Offshore Wind Industry Development, prepared by Wind Industry Hub in cooperation with the Polish Wind Energy Association and CEE Energy Group, has been published online. The document has four sections: 1) the importance of offshore wind in increasing the supply of cheap and clean energy in Poland; 2) the industry’s strategic position in the European Union; 3) conclusions from the first experience in the construction of offshore wind farms; 4) detailed solutions for OWF to become a driving force for Poland’s economic development.
The strategy focuses on a set of priority implementation programmes – market segments that require short-term action and the implementation of medium/long-term directions based on market and economic analysis, synergies and security aspects.
Its aim is to provide the Polish Cabinet with comprehensive material for the adoption of a national offshore wind industry development strategy, recognising it as one of the most important investment projects. The publication is based on a 400-page analytical document assessing the offshore wind development potential of Poland and Europe.
